Social Media Post #151: Kwena Basin Extention - Implementation starts when teachers feel supported (Visit 3)

Sustainable implementation does not happen through training alone.

During our recent Kwena Basin Extension Project visit to Mpumalanga (4-8 May 2026), the focus extended beyond workshops into classroom support, mentorship and practical implementation.

The visit included:
2 days of SIZE and POSITION training

3 days of classroom and ECD support visits

• Support across Ukhwezi Primary, Kwena Combined and 5 ECD sites

One of the most encouraging outcomes has been the immediate implementation momentum that followed. Teachers have already begun sharing classroom practice, mediation activities and learner engagement through ongoing WhatsApp support platforms.

This reflects an important reality in education development work: confidence grows through support, follow-through and relationships.

Implementation begins when teachers feel supported enough to start.
